If a contract has an end date in the past (e.g. a contract that expired in 2017) you will see a warning:
"The contract’s end date has passed – action needed."
This also applies to contracts with automatic renewal where a new term hasn’t been confirmed.
When a warning pops up, you have two choices:
a) End the contract
Select "End contract"
Confirm the action
The contract will be marked as ended, but all history and metadata are kept in the system
b) Extend the contract
Select "Extend contract"
The system suggests a new contract period based on previous interval
Example: If the previous period was 3 years, a new period is suggested e.g. 2023-02-05 to 2026-02-05
Depending on leap years or if the previous end date wasn’t exactly "the first", you can adjust the dates manually
Click Save to confirm
When you’ve saved:
The agreement is updated with a new start and end period
A new reminder about notice period is calculated automatically
The agreement is considered active again in the system
