Linked contracts are used when:
Some attachments or addendums are uploaded separately from the main agreement
You want to create a clear relationship between documents, e.g. between a lease agreement and a data protection agreement
When you're registering a document you want to link:
1. Follow the same registration flow as for regular agreements
2. Pick agreement owner – usually it's the same person as in the main agreement
3. Scroll down to the section Main contract
4. In the dropdown, pick the agreement that the document should be linked to
(e.g. a rental agreement)
You can choose where the linked document will be placed:
- Same folder as the main agreement
- Other folder, e.g. if attachments should be stored separately
When you're done, click Save.
When you go to the agreement list and see the agreement cards:
The main contract shows that it has linked contracts
You can just click on the link to open the connected document
The sub-agreement also shows which file it's connected to as a main contract
- A main contract can have multiple sub-contracts linked to it
- A sub-contract can only be connected to one main contract
- You can edit anytime and change the link between contracts
